Our 2020 prayer is that God might use us to change our world through credible Christ-centred relationships. Under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, we pray that God will outpour His Spirit, growing His church in the Northern Beaches of Sydney in godly maturity and numerical membership as we proclaim His wonderful gospel of grace.
We are looking for 2020 Prayer Partners! Our challenge to each of our members at Christ Church Northern Beaches is one of partnership in the gospel. We have also been richly blessed by the Lord’s provision of partners who worship and serve beyond our local church community.
As we pray for growth towards 2020 together, the Parish Partnership has agreed some characteristics and commitments for a 2020 Prayer Partner in the light of a Scriptural understanding of gospel partnership:
Prays regularly for our local church and for Christ’s mission
Allocates time, effort and resources to support Christ’s mission
Reads God’s word daily for personal growth
Trains to be better equipped to connect people with Jesus Christ
Notices opportunities to love and care for others
Engages unbelieving neighbours and friends in conversation and seeks to connect them with Jesus Christ
Relies on the word and Spirit of God to bring gospel growth
A 2020 Prayer Partner has put their trust solely in Jesus Christ for their salvation; is committed to His Lordship; prays for our church and our mission, gathers in fellowship regularly and frequently; provides and participates in training and discipleship opportunities; loves, cares for and serves members of the church family; gives to the cause of the gospel generously and sacrificially; suffers sacrificially for Christ; engages neighbours and friends in conversation and seeks to connect them with Christ, relying on God to bring the growth as they do the work of proclaiming Christ in thought, word and deed.
